Alexis Goes Sledding

Here is Alexis bundled in her new purple winter Jacket, and sledding with Daddy and Pappie and Mommy in the front yard.

Despite the cold, Alexis LOVED going down the hill. I know she looks terrified in that first picture, but that is because Jared had to grip her funny when he hit a pile of snow.

I have gone sledding on MUCH steeper hills, but only a couple of times--and it has been a long time. I feared for my life. Here is a video of all three of us going down together. Note that I only screamed FOUR times in four seconds.

Kelly was showing off--running onto the sled and going down on his stomach. I had to borrow Kathy's snow boots to even get on the sled. This afternoon I had to go somewhere, and I really wondered if I could make it into the car. The driveway is SO steep, and it was just a BLOCK of ice. I KNOW I couldn't have gotten into the car without Jared's help. I couldn't even MOVE without loosing ALL control. we weren't even able to get our cheap little car up the driveway the other night, so I had to go DOWN a STEEP slope of PURE ICE. Maybe I should just learn to ice skate and skate to the car every morning. I need a toe-pick (you know that thing they talk about in that ice skating movie) on all my shoes.

I lived in Utah, but I have never seen anything like this. Apparently this is worse than usual, but not unusual.

Let me tell you, I lived in the snow in Idaho for only a few short months and I fell on my butt each-and-every-day! Ice is not nice, snow is a no go, cold is, i can't think of anything...oh...cold is as good as mold! It's a chilly 66 here in Petaluma today.
Nice screaming by the way, that was hilarious!
