This Morning . . .

Like every day, I heard Alexis cry when she woke up. I went to the bathroom first, and when I went in to get her, I found her sitting in the middle of her bedroom floor.

Alexis has been sleeping pretty well these days--like a normal child; but really, she is not ready for a toddler bed! Kelly is trying to think of a way to trap her in--I guess he had to do it with Matt when he was Lexi's age.

Alexis is also able to get over the stair barrier now . . . so I can't let her run loose in the house like I used to. She has also started to pinch people with her hands . . . and she is STILL biting me (she doesn't bite anyone else though). You can tell how her new found abilities are affecting our dialogue with each other . . . she now says "no" almost every time you ask her a question or try to get her to do anything.

I LOVE my child. She is AWESOME and is so fun and full of life and smiles for all, but she is really keeping me (and Jared) very busy these days.

We had to take Adam out of the crib when he was ten months old. He WOULDN'T stay in. We even tried a net on top. So we put him in a twin bed next to Evan's and I don't remember him ever falling out. The biting. I used to bite back. I don't remember to who. There were multiple children that would try that. But Mom bit back (not too hard) and then say "DON'T EVER bite". Probably bad parenting, but I don't think biting stayed a problem for long. You never called me back. Did you get the messages I left on your phone?

Is Lexi in a room all by herself or is she in with you? If she is by herself I would move her to a toddler bed. She is definitally old enough. You will probably have to put her back to bed for a while over and over... but I guess it is time to deal with that drama. I would read Carrie Hunsakers blog... she is having a tough time, but not everyone goes thru that... I think it is 50/50.

They never seem ready for the bed, but it always works out. I wish I could just sit on your couch and watch her do her thing. I bet I would get exhausted just watching her.

Hope you are doing well, you are in our prayers always.
