Laura has been suggesting that I enter a blog. But really, I have nothing to say in this type of setting. Usually whenever I talk to my friends, I usually just shoot off random crap. Its fun, but nothing I consider worthy of projecting to the masses. Laura keeps everyone abreast of our family news. What knowledge base do i possess that others would find entertaining?
Recently, the answer came to me. I know TV and am excellent at watching it. It is this expert capacity that I would like to address. I have a well-earned reputation for making strong viewing recommendations. This morning, as I was listening to Alexis cry, I happened to stumble across a show that had gone unnoticed by me. I imagine that many of you are in the same boat, and are missing this entertaining program.
The program I am speaking about is called "Bully Beatdown". I was skeptical when I first saw this program on the guide channel. I was expecting some kind of "revenge of the Nerds"-spray paint the Bully's car crap. I was mistaken.
The premise of the show is that people who know bullies can contact Jeremy "Mayhem" Miller (a legitimate MMA fighter). He then shows up and challenges the Bully (over 18) to fight one of his MMA friends. He convinces the bully to do this by playing on their ego and offering them 10,000 dollars if they can win. He lets the bully come to his gym for a day of training. After that, the fight is on, and one of Mayhem's buddies kicks the crap out of the guy.
A great thing about this show is that almost anyone can enjoy. You're not being asked to root for nerds who are completely unlikeable. The first episode featured a guy who was getting beat on by his little brother. The guy was pretty normal. His brother was just a jerk who liked to put him through walls. And the bully pushed a kid (from behind) down bleacher stairs (in front of the school) and gave him an ugly forehead scar. So its not revenge of the nerds stuff. Its pretty much fun for everyone who isn't a jerk themselves.
The show picked the right host. Mayehm is a funny guy. He's loud. And seeing him come into the neighborhood and make fun of the guy's bright yellow hummer is entertaining.
Miller is in the bully's face between rounds (each fight is 2 rounds). In the first episode he told the guy to hit him as hard as he could. He then told the dude "That was like having your head outside of a car window....annoying...but not painful". And he's not delusional about his show's value. When he met the victim he asked, "So what do you think your family is going to get out of this?" When the guy replied "Really, I just want to see him get his ass kicked". Mayhem replied "Good enough for me", and jumped out of the car with his bullhorn to wake up the brother. Good times.
Anyway, that was long. But if you like violence/action, and like to see people with egos find out that they are completely out of their league...then give "Bully Beatdown" a shot.
The only downside to all this is that Laura is suggesting that my brother Jordan may call Mayhem.
Maybe my next post will be thoughts about "The Office" or "Anyone who wouldn't vote Lebron for MVP doesn't understand basketball".
Also, I am winning my NCAA pool.

Wow!Jared. I don't know if I'll check out the program, but I can imagine others in the family having a good time with it. But now that you are blogging, you'll be sure to get to know your in-laws better, cause we "comment" on just about anything. Maybe you'll be able to sucker some of the other male members of the fam to contribute, besides Dad of course.
That was an entertaining post. Good job! (This comment is from Ryan's sister)
I'm pretty sure if this show was around twenty years ago I would have called them out to deal with Evan. :)
Good thing I like Evan now.
