What a sweet baby girl! Even though she is REALLY acting two lately!
So, Alexis turned the big 0-2 yesterday! It was kind of sad because she woke up at 5:30 and didn't go back to sleep--and I worked yesterday so I had to get ready while she was crying for my attention and then had to drop her off at the baby-sitter's. When I came home it was pretty busy. Our friend Ryan made her a HUGE cake, and she got plenty of presents! She didn't really enjoy them that much when she was opening them, but started to REALLY play with them when things settled down. She also waited until everyone was getting ready for bed to eat her birthday cake (this girl does things on her own terms). Anyway, here are some pictures from her birthday.
Jared's boss had Jared leave early for Lexi's birthday, which was really nice. Also, his office got her a present! They got her a Dora book with Maracas (or however you spell it) and Falling Up by Shel Silverstein. I never heard of an office buying a present for someone's kid before. She has been playing with everything she got.
Wednesday was the Trunk-or-Treat at the church. I couldn't find Lexi's bee costume from last year, so I ran out to get her Super Girl--but it was sold out. She ended up being a pumpkin, which is fine because this is the last year she will look baby enough to be a pumpkin anyway.
Alexis didn't get to all the cars for the Trunk-or-treat; she got burnt out. When they were doing the games, Alexis was kind of running around with the older kids and kept almost getting hurt and getting in the way of the activities. When she was eating her cupcake I was taking a picture, and was asked to move because I was in the way of a relay race. Well, Alexis didn't want to move--so that took a second. Then she had a tantrum and threw her cupcake on the floor (in the way of the relay race) so that took another minute. I was done (Jared was still at work) so I went in the car with Alexis, gave her candy, and waited for everyone to get back in the car to go home. She had a BLAST--I got kind of tired.
Last of all, here is a random cousin picture:

This is Mom,from Terra's house. It's so fun hearing about Lexi's toddlerhood. She's is adorable and has a rival here in Indiana for cuteness and mischief and temper-tantrums. Lucky they are so cute. It gets them through until they turn three and become somewhat more reasonable. I so wish I was there to get to know her and to visit with all of the Smith family. My love to everyone in the house. Mom
That's the cutest little pumpkin I've ever seen! = )
Don't listen to mom...they don't get easier until 5. I LOVE That she threw down her cupcake, that totally made me laugh!
Unfortunately, my kids made it around the trunk or treat route like 3 times. They have been trading candies for 2 hours now, even though they only get to keep 10 pieces each of it. (Tonight will be another haul and we will have to renegoitiate.)
Lexie's cake looks SOOOOO good! Did it taste as good as it looks? It doesn't matter...I'm pretending it did and wishing for one for my birthday.
Happy (belated) birthday sweet girl!!!!!
Great update! I love Lexie's spirit!! From an aunt's point of view...the two's are wonderful and entertaining:) Happy belated birthday little pumpkin!!
p.s. Now the pressure is on to make Meri a cool and yummy birthday cake like Lexie's!!
She is so cute. I would have posted earlier but after I read it mom took the computer and I forgot to comment. Happy Birthday beautiful little girl! One day we will get out girls together and it will be hilarious. I will be in Virginia for Christmas. Not too far from you. Maybe we can drive up to PA and visit. What do you think?
Your girl has style. Great pictures! Halloween always makes me tired. Don't let Mom or Meri fool you. They never get easy, it is just a different kind of hard. How is your job going?
She was an adorable pumpkin. Our Mario pumpkin was better. I think you need to cut her hair...just the tail off.
anyway HAPPY BIRTHDAY LEXI! She is adorable.
Laura, I got your message but your car info still has not come to our address. I think you need to call the DMV, you can e-mail me and let me know what's going on, that would be easier than leaving comments.
My e-mail is
beckastark@yahoo.com
Let me know if you need any help in tracking down your papers. :) Becka
Better yet do you have a facebook? ~B
I am such a slacker when it comes to posting comments on the blog. I usually just let Evan have that job since the only thing I know how to do on the computer is play games.
Alexis is an absolute doll. She has a great birthday too! Mine is the same day!
Lewis just said that Alexis is one cousin he has never met. We might have to do something about that one of these days.
