Something new every day .

Isn't she photogenic? I thought it was funny that she pretty much made EXACTLY the same face in both pictures. I love her wide smile--but I also love it when she just shows off her teeth :)


Anyway, as far as new things go, Alexis was never a perfect clapper . . . she just kind of rubbed her hands together. Now she is an expert at clapping and she knows what the word "clap" means, and will do it on command (when she feels like it). We gave her SO much positive reinforcement that she has become kind of obsessed with it, and will do it when she wants attention or praise. The funniest thing was that, the day she learned it, she was up late and Jared and I were watching Sarah Pallin speak at the RNC, and every time the people clapped and cheered, she would start clapping too! We kept laughing, and she would look at us like "isn't this what I am supposed to do?" Anyway, here is a video from the day she learned her new trick (Wednesday). The kicking she demonstrates is pretty much what she does whenever she isn't grumpy, she does it ALL DAY. It is glimpse at a typical Alexis on a typical day.

Also, that SAME night we discovered that she knows another trick. You know when you will put your mouth open over a baby's belly, and blow to tickle them? Well, she was sitting on our bed with us (she couldn't get to sleep--we think she has a sore throat), and I was laying down. My shirt had ridden up a little bit. Well, she climbed over me, put her slobbery mouth open over my belly button, and BLEW! She did it like three times! She kept looking at us for our reaction . . . and we were DYING.

She's awesome.
