I am sure I have been blessed somewhat genetically--I mean, I am alive, right? But there are some genetic traits I have inherited that aren't the best--one being my eyesight. It has been five or six years since I have had an eye exam, and after wearing the same pair of contacts all that time, I finally found my glasses and put them on. Even though my glasses aren't the perfect pescription, when I put them on I can finally see how dirty my house really is! Every spot and crumb seems to stare me down! I also can see now that my hair is frizzy, and my complexion is far from smoothe and even. I almost miss being blind!
I went to Wal-mart and spent a bazillion dollars on a new pair of hard contacts. The doctor said my pescription was worse, but part of that might be the irritation from wearing such old contacts all the time. I couldn't read any of the little letters no matter what she did with those lenses of hers.
Anyway, on a happier note, Alexis seems to have surpassed Jared's and my poorly bred singing skills--she is already trying to copy the tune of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and direct the music in church. Even though I know that singing isn't necessarily in her blood, I will not make fun of her when she sings as a little girl (like people did to me). Also, if she tells me at the age of 5 that she wants to be an athlete when she grows up, I will not laugh at her (like was done to me). Don't get me wrong, I have awesome brothers and sisters, but they did like to embarrass me when I was little.
Alexis's speach is developing, and I am so proud of her. She has discovered she is one of us, and knows there is NOTHING she can't do if she puts her mind to it. I hope that persistence and confidence lasts her through life!
P.S. I know I need to post more pictures, but have been too lazy (sorry, Mom).

I don't remember EVER making fun of you. I don't know what you're talking about ;)
Ditto to that Terra! If Katie and Terra said that to you, that is just awful!
We all have selective memories. Singing is in Lexi's genes. At least humming is! I wonder how much a bazillion is?
Mom, a bazillion is more then a gazillion. Hello!
